PLNET outage issues this weekend were the result of updates done
by Shared Services BC midafternoon Saturday. The impact to
OC and other institutions was loss of connectivity between PLNET
network and BCNET (who host Research and BC University clients
(UBC, SFU etc.). Traffic to all other sites functioned
Shared Services BC has limited support hours and technical capacity outside of normal business hours. OC’s technicians made contact with the resources available, who were not able to identify the problem. This issue was escalated to the BC Ministry Office of the CIO who at 7am today, started working on the problem. By 9am, updates were completed to resolve the problem.
